Security Organization in Champaign-Urbana (CU)

There are a number of companies and research organizations with a
presence in the Champaign-Urbana area that concentrate
on network and computer security. Here is a work in progress list.

University related security organizations

The Information Trust Institute (ITI)
focuses on security and dependability research and education. Their calendar
attempts to track all security related talks on campus.

The National Center for Supercomputing Applications
also engages in security work to address the unique security issues of
large scale computing and large collaborative environments.

A Blog that summarizes the comments from a weekly security reading group.
They meet weekly and review papers from the lastest security conferences
and journals.

multi-level, trusted operating systems.

provides tools and services to help IT staff determine whether their
network security device configurations match policy and expectation.

Trusted Computer Solutions (TCS) develops
solutions with high security requirements including multi-level systems.
TCS has been influential in the MLS support in SE Linux. They have
multiple sites including one in Champaign.

security system evaluations. The team at Saffire can help companies
prepare for Common Criteria evaluations. Saffire also helps perform
Common Criteria evaluations.
